Using MyPortfolio for reflection is an excellent way for students to keep track of their progress.
At Hagley each music student makes a page that shows the development of a piece they have composed or performed.
We use Soundcloud for compositions as our students have their own Soundcloud accounts. We find this embeds well and could be used for any aural work.
Video is inserted via links from YouTube and many students have their own YouTube channels.

Their page could include video, progress, feedback from peers and teachers as well as goals and results.
We use it for Music performance where students will upload a video of a rehearsal (or link to their YouTube Channel) and get feedback from the class and from staff. They then set goals for the next performance of what they need to improve on. Then they can upload another performance and see the difference in progress. Feedback and a grade may be given on the last performance.
We also use this for composition, where ideas can be put up, commented on and worked with.
An excellent template is supplied in MyPortfolio by Jon Bowen and he has many templates for music available. These could easily be adapted for other subjects.

Jon also has video and exemplars on this page so students know what to aim for. We don’t use the 4Rs in particular, but have journals for practice diaries. There is also a good template for the 4Rs that Jon has shared if you want to use these.
Another great tool that you can embed is Voicethread. Well worth looking at for reflection and commenting on a picture or video.
Our Composition tasks have a written component and I found a template was the best way for students to cover all of the aspects needed.
Another example is reflection on work handed in.
This student had done the task and handed in the written section, but still had some to complete.
This was a good way for me to get feedback on where the students felt they were and what the next steps would be.
